JOSHUA WARD, ISAIAH GALVIN SULLIVAN, CLAUDIA ADAMS & DISFERA DESIGN
CURATED BY CLAUDIA LOWE
ARTIST STATEMENT:
“Moving fluidly between abstraction and figuration, Isaiah’s work explores the intersections between self and other,
revealing and concealing the complexities of personal and shared experience. Drawing on his experiences connected to both First Nations and Papuan heritage, his practice engages with themes of migration,
displacement, poverty, trauma, and disconnection. Guided by careful observation, encounters with others, and my
own history, I work across tattoo-making, painting, and drawing, using acrylic paint, charcoal, ink, spray paint, and
canvas to build layers, textures, and the visual depth that is central to his work. Colour functions as a kind of smoke-and-mirrors—visually inviting on the surface while carrying layered reflections on vulnerability, mortality and the human condition.”

ARTIST STATEMENT:
“Ay-up! I’m Josh, a versatile creative and designer based in Sydney. As an artist, I’m constantly captivated by the world of visual arts, which has sparked a journey of self-discovery in my practice. I dive deep into my fascination with color, form, and tactility, allowing my feelings and experiences to take center stage in my creative process. I enjoy blending my skills in graphic design and fine art, creating a vibrant mix that brings my ideas to life. I’m passionate about exploring the interplay between different mediums and inviting others to join me on that journey.” - Joshua Ward

ARTIST STATEMENT:
I use mirrors as a way to study perception and human fascination with seeing ourselves. The further reflection drifts from reality, the stronger our curiosity becomes as distortion turns into discovery.
Much of my work evolves from how people interact with the pieces; their reactions often guide the next idea. Each mirror is designed to adapt, in size, colour, or function, existing somewhere between a useful object and a personal encounter.
